This was posted a year ago. Now this probably will not work for those with the latest software. I would use this article for research purposes but wouldn't be able to guarantee that it works anymore.

Beautiful girls, beautiful spirits. They were definitely best friends in the premortal existence, & didn't want to lose that here. Wonderful examples of love & faith. In their resurrectoin, they'll each have their own body, I suppose, but for now, they enjoy being together!!

I believe the company was the Anoto Group that developed the digital pen.
I actually was looking for a company that can create forms in packets/notepads using the dot paper technology.

Carlos

-------------
\"Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one.\" - Albert Einstein

That's a good write up on the digital pen from Livescribe.

The technology that Livescribe use for the dot paper is developed by a Swedish company called. There are many any varied companies that also use this technology, but primarily for the corporate world.

We, for example, design forms for businesses based on the Anoto technology that allow a technician or any field based worker to complete their form with their digital pen in the field and then have the data sent via Bluetooth to their mobile phone, through GPRS and to the office where the data is edited and then exported into the backend system.

There really is no limit to what can be done with this digital pen & paper format.

Cheers,

In my experience the AppleTV is a mediocre platform unfortunately. If you are thinking of using it as your entertainment center is not powerful enough to drive HD content, will not play Netflix streaming videos smoothly and most of the content you want to store and play needs to be encoded for the ATV (in iTunes, Toast, Handbrake, etc) to allow the smoothest playback.

I also tried the full hack and installed 10.5.6 via iPC (same build used to "test" OS X on PCs) but the 1GHz intel processor on board is not sufficiently powerful therefore the system can't be considered usable. In my case I also had a weird problem where the mouse pointer would show on screen as a white square that would sporadically disappear, and although I could use it to click (with the active click area being the top left corner of the square) I have to say that 10.5.6 on ATV is barely usable and could challenge even people that are capable of being really patient and calm :).

Although the hack is interesting from the educational point of view, I would not recommend it to anyone. I do not believe it's illegal to hack the ATV as I believe that Apple's EULA only forbids running OS X on non-Apple hardware... so since the ATV is apple's hardware it should be allowed, although unsupported. But like I said if are a sadist go ahead install OS X on the ATV and enjoy your suffering :P

If you are really looking to just make the most out of your ATV try one of the patchstick solutions suggested here... I tried a while back the atv-usbcreator and I still have it installed, works ok but no netflix so far (just would not work). The option for hulu works but you need to be patient. I am amazed the developers actually got it to work on such limited hardware... it will not be fast to load nor smooth to manage, but if you can deal with that is usable.

Well I hope you all will hack your ATV so you can finally enjoy it as you are supposed to freeing yourselves a bit from the stupidity of Apple's "AppleTV" team who allowed such an abortion of a product to see the light of the day, instead of coming up with a cutting edge solution for people who want to use the OS X interface, programs and apple hardware as their powerful, versatile, expandable and stylish HOME THEATER... sadly the choices made when coming up with the AppleTV hardware and software capabilities is to be added to the list of the sad chapters in Apple's history.

Yeah, I also got it working this evening. Same story here: It's pretty choppy when watching in the browser. Weird thing to me was I went to silverlight.net/fox and watched a movie trailer there that played VERY smooth. So I'm not sure exactly what the issue is. But yes, it works.

It is always easy enough to restore your factory defaults. If you hold Play and '-' keys on your remote for 5 or so seconds it will reset the unit and give you a choice of restoring factory defaults or just restarting.
